Ann Hood is the author of a dozen books of memoir and fiction, including The Stolen Child, The Book That Matters Most, and The Knitting Circle, and editor of the anthologies Knitting Yarns and Knitting Pearls. She’s been honored with two Pushcart Prizes and two Best American Food Writing Awards, among others. Michael Ruhlman has written cookbooks and nonfiction narratives, including chef Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry Cookbook as well as a series about the training of chefs: The Making of a Chef, The Soul of a Chef, and The Reach of a Chef. He also wrote The Elements of Cooking and Ratio, The Book of Cocktail Ratios: The Surprising Simplicity of Classic Cocktails, and for younger readers, If You Can’t Take the Heat.
