Key West Art and Historical Society will present on Florida Keys History! Catch a glimpse of Keys history, culture & more!

Join us at the library every Saturday during June and July for a Summer Reading event! 

Please be aware that our programs may have high attendance numbers. Please allot time to find street parking as the library parking lot may be full. 

Summer Reading is a tradition that promotes reading for fun and prevents learning loss over the summer. MCPL offers enjoyable and educational events at our five branches to keep families reading all summer long! We host fun events & award prizes for all ages, from babies to teens; even caregivers can join in on the fun

How To Participate in Summer Reading

  • Pick up a Reading Log each week from your library
  • Visit the library to check out books or download eBooks and eAudiobooks through Libby
  • Read at least 15-20 minutes every day and keep track on your Reading Log
  • Attend our weekly events and crafts
  • Listen to a lecture from one of our guest speakers every Saturday throughout the summer
  • Turn in your reading log each week to win a prize
  • Complete our Summer Reading Bingo for even more prizes
